Riverbank Art Club

The Club will run for a period of eight weeks and last for an hour after School, from 3.15pm-4.15pm.

  • A register will be kept of the class.
  • 10 pupils are the maximum for each session.
  • Lesson plans available to view.
  • A scrapbook will be compiled during the eight weeks, and will provide evidence of extended Schools Activities for the School to keep.
  • To celebrate what the children have achieved and accomplished during this time, Riverbank Art Club will arrange an exhibition of the work it has been doing with all it’s School’s, showing the process that was used and the final outcome for the students.

Week One
River Bank Art ClubEach child will be given a folder to keep their work in.

We will be looking at portraiture today and doing observational drawings of faces, looking at proportions ,face shapes positioning of features, using pencils, chalk and charcoal.

We will draw using our dominant and non dominant hand.

 

 

Week two
River Bank Art ClubWe will be talking about colour, looking at the colour wheel and discussing primary,secondary and complimentary colours. using some psycadelic designs the students will colour these in using a limited colour palette of their choice and thinking about the best colours to use for the design.

 

 

 

Week three
River Bank Art ClubWe will go over the colour wheel again today and then neatly fill it in.

Looking at pictures of popart we will then colour in an outlined picture using the information we have acquired.

 

 

 

Week four
River Bank Art ClubLook at Andy Warhol and discuss the painting he did of Mick Jagger, How could we replicate this?

Take photographs of each other and download them onto the computer, create an art file and make sure that each photograph is labelled with the correct name and saved onto the computer.

Start to manipulate your face from colour to black and white and then save your image when there are no areas of grey to be seen.

Discuss what materials will be needed to do the collage next week.

 

 

Week five
River Bank Art ClubPrint off the image of the face and attach it to the back of the transparency film.
Copy the outline of the face onto the transparency paper using a black permanent marker pen.


Play around with the image of your face using tracing paper to duplicate it and the photocopier to make it smaller or larger.

 

Week six
River Bank Art ClubStart to plan the collage that your image will be laid on top of.

Attach the image to the front.

 

 

 

 

Week seven
River Bank Art ClubLook at some designs previously done of t-shirts’ influenced by pop art.

Access your image on the computer again and start to manipulate it so that it resembles pop art.

Save what you have done to the computer.
